Black/death metal band Graufar, hailing from Austria, will release their debut EP on April 13th. Titled Scordalus, the six track material comes two years after the band dropped Demos, which includes only two singles. In order to give the fans a taste of what is to come, the band dropped the single Lies on March 23rd. Norbert Leitner did the voice recordings and the sound design. He was also in charge with mixing and mastering the material.
Graufar (an old German word for the color “gray”) came to being in Linz, Austria at the end of 2020. Soon they had the chance to stand on the stage of various concerts and festivals. The band complements black metal with death metal parts and also with melodic elements. Therefore, the common black metal screams occasionally switch to low growls. On April the 13th 2024 the band will release their first material, Scordalus which covers different topics. The English as well as German lyrics vary between socially critical topics, the dark sides of humanity and personal experiences.
