The Romanian band Grohot releases their first EP, “Creatio ex Nihilo”. The band wanted to incorporate in this work a multitude of myths and symbols from both Romanian folklore and universal culture.
The discographic title is a representative piece for the aesthetics of the project, “Creatio ex Nihilo”, from Latin “Creation from nothing”. This title is also a reference to the creative process of the material, because the band members started with a very limited number of equipment in an apartment room.
The EP’s aesthetics are dark, aggressive, with few moments of respite until the resumption of raw energy. The songs contain tremolo riffs and sequences with thrash metal influences with a high BPM, and the vocals remain just as aggressive throughout the material.
The artwork is made by Maria Zaharia, and depicts one of the characters of the EP.
The album can be listened to on all streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Deezer, etc.) Bandcamp, and on YouTube can be found on the Black Metal Promotion II channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uA9hqAeHOc
