Orphaned Land, Subterranean Masquerade and Riot Monk confirmed for Maximum Rock Festival 2020

After DEVIN TOWNSEND, KATATONIA and THERION, another 3 bands officially confirm their presence at the MAXIMUM ROCK FESTIVAL # 8, an event that will take place between June 13-14, 2020 at  Arenele Romane (Open Air) in Bucharest.
These are ORPHANED LAND and SUBTERRANEAN MASQUERADE from Israel and RIOT MONK from Romania.

Orphaned Land is an unstoppable force. Formed in Israel in 1991, these self-proclaimed oriental metal craftsmen have spent the last 26 years spreading positive messages with their music.
Throughout five ingenious albums, the band has remained true to the promise of uniting fans in the Middle East and beyond, regardless of nationality, race or faith.
Highly respected in the music industry, the band won the Global Metal award offered by the English publication Metal Hammer in 2014, is recognized worldwide for their contribution in uniting people, winning three national peace awards. Fans even organized an online campaign and petition calling for Orphaned Land to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. The petition has collected thousands of signatures from people around the world, and is currently one of the best metal bands, with Steven Wilson considered one of the strongest bands on the planet.

With 5 studio albums already released, the Israeli band Subterranean Masquerade performed in Cluj-Napoca in the spring of 2018, as an opening act for the Orphaned Land concert. Designed as a mix of progressive rock, doom metal and psychedelic rock of the 1970s, their musical project aimed to dilute the boundaries between genres and to make combinations that, at first glance, would seem at least unlikely. Inspired by Pink Floyd and Iron Butterfly, the Israelis collaborated with members of the Agalloch, Tristania, and Orphaned Land bands, and in the fall of 2016, they staged a special show at ProgPower Europe. Subterranean Masquerade also took part in a mini-tour with Votum (Poland) and Chaos Divine (Australia), delighting a large audience from Germany, the Netherlands, France, Denmark and the United Kingdom.

A young and energetic band, Riot Monk formed in 2014 in Baia-Mare, and, like a quality beer, it matured until it was ready to see the light of the stage. In 2016, when they came out with the first album, the public appreciated their fresh style, their unique sound, and then we can distinguish them in the ocean of alternative metal. Their purpose is to bring the grunge of the 1990s into a modern approach. Inspired by Peral Jam, Staind, Soundgarden, Pantera, Metallica, Nirvana, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Godsmack, the boys made a name for themselves, becoming 2016 GBOB Romania champions.
At the beginning of 2018 the band launched the single “Orișicui” very well received by the public, and in 2019 the band returns with a new song “Be Pălincă”.
For 2020 Riot Monk is preparing a new record material that will be presented at the Maximum Rock Festival.
