Methadone Skies are a psychedelic stoner rock/metal band from Timisoara, Romania, formed in 2009. The band never imposed a limit to itself when it came to experiments regarding its music, thus each of the three full length albums released combined different styles which mainly come from jam sessions.

This year marks the bands 10th anniversary and what better way to celebrate than with new music. Thus, on the 10th of May, Methadone Skies with release their fourth studio album titled “Different Layers of Fear” through their own label Haywire Records.
The album will contain seven tracks with a total of 72 minutes of playtime. It was recorded and edited at Consonance Studio in Timisoara, by Edmond Karban, Cristian Popescu and Andrei Jumuga (members of the bands DorDeDuh and Sunset in the 12th House) during the October-November period of 2018. Mixing and mastering was done by James Plotkin (who worked with a multitude of artists such as Neurosis, Isis, Nadja, Tim Hecker, Fennesz and Acid Mothers Temple). Additional keyboards and synthesizers were added by Marius Muntean (The Thirteenth Sun, Black Water), whilst on the track “A Glitch in the Sun” the band collaborated with Davide Straccione (Zippo, Shores of Null) again.

Methadone Skies have had concerts all over Europe, taking part in festivals such as “Lake of Fire”, “Exit Festival”, “Revolution Festival”, “Pietrasonica Festival”, “Tube Cult Fest”, “Rockt den See” and others. They have also shared the stage with bands such as Samsara Blues Experiment, My Sleeping Karma, Motorpsycho, Yawning Man, Belzebong, 1000MODS, Toner Low, Stoned Jesus and others.
To promote their upcoming fourth release, the band will play a show on the 23ed of May, in club Quantic, Bucharest.
