Motorama & Orkid – concert review

@Control. An event made by Waves with no Ends, Cluj Napoca

Last week I’ve witnessed a very nice show where the headliners were Motorama. A band which maybe is not well known among Romanians; it was formed in 2005 in the Russian town of Rostov-on-Don. Until now they have released 5 studio albums, two mini albums and a series of singles. Their sound is like an escape “far away from the city” in a place close to the “Northern seaside” where you can star gaze with wind in your hair and a “heavy wave” will hit the rocks near the shores.  A subtle and a bouncy sound of guitar perfectly combined with dark brooding vocals managed to create an 80’s sound of post-punk with indie influences. I cannot describe in words how perfect and nice the whole atmosphere was.

A synth vibe around the bass lines pushes a dynamic quality which is both dreamy and catchy.  A kind of pop sound, but which has its roots in punk.

Orkid- this magnific trio continues to amaze me every time I listen to them. This show was their first acoustic journey and I dare to call it this way, because I really hope they’ll make another one very soon. It was a perfect sensible show and listening to Vlad’s  vocals in clean was a total delight.

You can watch glimpses from the show on our facebook page

Thanks to Control Club for helding the event and to Waves with no Ends for making this event possible !

Until next time!
