The well-known Swedish band AT THE GATES returns to Romania this year to promote the album “To Drink from the Night Itself,” released on May 18th via Century Media. On the 6th December, the show will take place at Quantic Club.
At the Gates is a Swedish death metal band from Gothenburg, a major progenitor of Gothenburg death metal-style The band was initially active from 1990 to 1996, reforming in 2007 for a tour between April and September 2008. In 2011, they reformed again and have since continued to perform. They released “At War with Reality“, their first album in 19 years, in late 2014.
AT THE GATES remain the creator of a highly personal musical expression. Undoubtedly, In Flames or Dark Tranquility are at least as well-known names, but for the devoted fan of extreme metal, AT THE GATES has a deeper side. The first two albums, “The Red in the Sky Is Ours,” and “With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness,” combine death-metal with doom elements and lyrical themes such as anger, sadness and a dark depth that draws its roots from the encounter between visions worthy of Dostoevsky and the thought of death.
The evolution towards death metal with a more traditional tempo is done by preserving the original air given by the melodious themes of the guitars and the voice of Tomas Lindberg. Although “Terminal Spirit Disease” and “Slaughter of the Soul” launched in 1994 and 1995, put AT THE GATES to the top, the members decided to end the project. It will take 19 years and various reunions, initially dedicated to concerts only, for the story to resume in 2014 with “At War With Reality”, a journey into the world of realism the magic marked by the collaboration with the graphic artist Costin Chioreanu.
Opening acts will be W3 4R3 NUM83R5 and TWIST OF FATE.
W3 4R3 NUM83R5 is a Romanian Metalcore band from Brasov. W3 4R3 NUM83R5 is a follow-up of the deceased Deliver The God project, due to the fact that there are three former members (Alinesku, Cristi and Silviu) who continued with a more melodic musical approach, the style being a melodic metalcore with groovy riffs and catchy breakdowns complemented by FX samples. For the 2018, besides the album and videos releases, W3 4R3 NUM83R5 plans a national tour.
TWIST OF FATE is a young Metalcore/Melodeath band from Bucharest.

* General access is from 19:00.
Online purchased tickets can be presented at the entrance, both printed and directly from your phone, and scanned.
* At the entrance, the ticket will be exchanged with a bracelet. Damage or rupture of this bracelet results in cancellation of the ticket and access to the concert area.
* The Ticket Holder is required to submit to body control made by the security officers.
